Starovic: Serbia committed to launching strategic dialogue with the United States
Serbian Minister for European Integration Nemanja Starovic met today with a delegation of experts and advisers from the United States Congress, with whom he discussed the advancement of Serbian-American relations and emphasized that Serbia is committed to launching a strategic dialogue with the United States in areas of mutual interest.
The American delegation, currently visiting Belgrade as part of a working visit to the region, includes staff members of members of Congress from the states of New York, Florida, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Illinois, Virginia, and Missouri.
Starovic stated that Serbia attaches great importance to the development and enhancement of Serbian-American relations, based on mutual respect and the strengthening of political and economic cooperation, according to a statement issued by the Ministry for European Integration.
He stressed that Serbia remains firmly committed to initiating a strategic dialogue with the United States in areas of common interest, including the economy, energy, new technologies, security, and regional stability.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on Serbia’s European path, regional cooperation, and current geopolitical challenges, the statement added.
Starovic reiterated that membership in the European Union remains Serbia’s strategic commitment and that the country continues to be dedicated to implementing reforms and preserving peace and stability in the region.
The discussion particularly underscored the importance of intensifying parliamentary and institutional contacts between Serbia and the United States, as well as the need to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation in the coming period.
