Todic, through an intermediary from KFOR, told Hetemi: He is free to leave the building

The former mayor of the Leposavic municipality, Zoran Todic, spoke with KFOR representatives, who asked them to convey to the newly elected mayor Lulzim Hatemi that the gathered citizens who were peacefully protesting would not cause him any problems if he wanted to leave the municipality building.

In this way, Todic responded to the message of Hetemi, who said last night that it was not difficult for him to spend the night at his workplace, in order not to create tensions and worsen the situation.

Through an intermediary from KFOR, Todic said that Hetemi could leave the building freely and that the gathered people would not cause any problems, because they had not done so before.

The KFOR representative told Todic that he would convey Hetemi's answer within the next hour.

"We do not agree with the fact that he can represent this nation, because not a single Serb, Bosniak, Roma, or Gorani participated in those elections on April 23. We submitted our resignations because we had reasons to do so. Our demands were that the CSM be formed and that all the special units of the Kosovo Police withdraw from here because the people are afraid and cannot tolerate the repression that we constantly experienced from the members of the special units. They shot people. And during routine traffic controls, they pointed their guns at women and children. We did not resign on a whim and for Mr. Hetemi to come here. And he says he will work in the interest of these people. My message to him is that the best thing he can do for these people is to get out of this office and return to perform his duty where he assumed the mandate and took the oath, and let us all return to normal life," Todic said.

He pointed out that no one had anything personal against Albanians, but that people did not agree with the unilateral and unreasonable decisions of the government from Pristina.

"These people are peacefully protesting here, we don't need any conflicts, but these people are determined and will persevere until their demands are met," Todic underlined.

When asked by an Albanian journalist who took responsibility for the violence against journalists and KFOR, Todic replied that there had been no violence and asked a counter question, “Who is responsible for the fact that Kurti forcibly brought the mayors to the municipal buildings and why didn’t he listen to the advice of the American ambassador Hovenier and Quint Ambassador, whose views coincide with those of the Serbs from the north?”

He reminded that the violations of the agreement on license plates, the seizure of property, and the illegal construction of military bases on stolen Serbian property had been going on for years and asked If the government in Pristina did not respect the law, why would anyone else respect it".
