Political scientist Ivan Tomic does not expect protests by KLA supporters to continue, because their main demand has been met through the adoption of amendments to the Law on the Specialist Chambers, but he adds that it will be interesting to see how the new legislation will be implemented.

Tomic told Kosovo Online that this law is primarily intended for domestic political purposes and has no legal basis, which will make it very difficult to implement it in any way.

“We know that the Specialist Chambers were established in such a way that the international community is the guarantor of the court, that Pristina agreed to their establishment, and that as long as the Constitution is not changed and the EU does not agree to their abolition or some kind of change, which will not happen, the adoption of this law will be used for domestic political issues,” Tomic said.

Tomic pointed out that it is unclear how the demonstrators will continue their fight for “justice,” but he believes that the adopted legislation is not an answer to what they wanted to achieve by making these demands.
