Trump congratulates Vucic on Serbia’s Statehood Day: The US is committed to further strengthening our strong friendship

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic received a congratulatory message from the President of the United States, Donald Trump, on the occasion of the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia, the Office for Media Relations announced.

“Dear Mr. President, on behalf of the people of the United States, I extend my sincerest congratulations to you and the people of Serbia on the occasion of Statehood Day, which you celebrate on February 15,” the message states.

Trump further noted that the Serbian flag was the first foreign flag to fly above the White House.

“Throughout nearly the entire 250 years of the United States’ freedom, Serbia has been a good friend to us. Serbia was, in fact, the first foreign country whose flag flew in a place of honor above the White House. The United States is committed to further strengthening our strong friendship as we work together to increase trade and investment and advance the economic prosperity of our citizens,” the congratulatory message from the US President reads.
