The vandalized bilingual signs in northern Kosovo, which were installed after the removal of those in Cyrillic without any consultation with the local community, were a top headline in most media outlets in Kosovo. The relevant ministry soon ordered their cleaning, while in the case of the vandalized signs in Serbian, there has been no response so far.

Namely, signs sprayed with black paint - obscuring the inscription in Serbian - on the road between Strpce and Urosevac still remain, as confirmed by our journalists, and their cleaning is not currently planned. Thus, on the signpost for Urosevac, only the inscription in Albanian "Ferizaj" can be read, and the same applies to the place Banjice, as well as many other settlements..."

The mentioned signs are vandalized, affecting the part where the name of the place is written in Serbian, but their cleaning is not currently ordered.

Recall that with the assistance of the Kosovo Police, workers hired by the Ministry of Infrastructure removed the signs with the names of settlements in northern Kosovo on March 14, written in Cyrillic, and installed new ones - in Albanian and Serbian languages, but in Latin script.

In recent days, the Albanian names have been sprayed over with black paint, and some signs have been knocked down.

During yesterday, workers, accompanied by the Kosovo Police, cleaned the signs and installed new ones.
