Lawyer Nebojsa Vlajic says that in the last two weeks, the intensity of arrests of Serbs on the basis of war crimes has increased, which, he says, represents extreme insecurity and has people rightfully worried, RTS reports.

"The interpretation of the special court in Pristina has become such that it is not possible that anything but war crimes was committed in Kosovo and Metohija during the war. It is not possible that someone was violent and beat up an Albanian in the police station or robbed a house because those acts are obsolete, and a war crime does not expire, and that's why whatever it is, they accuse them of a war crime," Vlajic explained.

For him, he says, the most impressive example is Zoran Lukic from Vucitrn, who was arrested six and a half years ago in Montenegro, against whom five criminal proceedings are pending.

"Five criminal proceedings for war crimes. It is not possible that this happened. The goal is to give him five maximum sentences so that he never gets out of prison," Vlajic said.

According to him, proceedings against eight people suspected of war crimes are underway in Kosovo, and five of them are serving sentences, which is a total of thirteen people.

He indicates that the situation is very difficult because there is no objectivity.

"While the EULEX court existed and while it was exercising its judicial function, there was some objectivity. We don't have that now. They say that they observe the trials, although we have never seen their report, neither positive nor negative, and it is very difficult," Vlajic stated.
