Vucevic with AIPAC representatives: Irrational decisions by Pristina worsen the security situation
Deputy Prime Minister of the Serbian Government and Minister of Defense, Milos Vucevic, emphasized today during a meeting with representatives of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) that the security situation in Kosovo was complex, and its deterioration was contributed by numerous irrational decisions of the Pristina authorities and their constant resort to mechanisms of force.
Vucevic, in the meeting with representatives of AIPAC, led by the organization's President Michael K. Tuchin, highlighted that such encounters provided an opportunity to openly discuss various issues, aiming to find the best solutions that were mutually beneficial.
Serbia highly values its cooperation with the United States, Vucevic emphasized, further stating that the process of enhancing bilateral military cooperation with the US continued, and in line with its national interests, Serbia was building partnership relations with all relevant international actors.
Vucevic also stated that Serbia continued to be a responsible and credible partner, and in line with its clear political commitment, it would remain a militarily neutral state.
He emphasized that Serbia consistently upheld the principle of sovereignty of each state and was committed to respecting the principles of territorial integrity and political independence.
"The security situation in Kosovo and Metohija is complex, and numerous irrational decisions of the Pristina authorities and their constant use of mechanisms of force contribute to the worsening security situation. Serbia is dedicated to peacefully resolving all issues through dialogue with Pristina, fully respects UN Security Council Resolution 1244, and the Military Technical Agreement, and is determined to protect its sovereignty and the security of its citizens in accordance with the basic principles of international law," Vucevic said, as stated in the Ministry of Defense's announcement.
Representatives of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee expressed hope that cooperation with Serbia would be elevated to a higher level in all areas of mutual interest.
