Vucevic: The wounding of Jovanovic is the 38th attack on Serbs this year, and the international community is silent
Defense Minister Milos Vucevic said today that the wounding of Milan Jovanovic on Monday evening near the Bistrica Bridge, not far from Zvecan, was the 38th attack on Serbs in Kosovo this year and the 276th since Prime Minister Albin Kurti, RTV reports.
"First, we heard the story that no one shot and that they didn't know what happened; now they got to the point that they brought their four police officers in for shooting. We had a statement from KFOR that they did not know that the Kosovo police had shot, and then after 24 hours, they informed the Serbian Army that they had information that the Kosovo police had shot at Milan Jovanovic," Vucevic said for TV Pink.
He added that the Serbs in Kosovo were rightfully angry and resentful of everything that was happening to them, but above all, they were afraid for their safety and the safety of their family members.
He stated that international organizations were silent on everything that happened in Kosovo, as well as non-governmental organizations in central Serbia that dealt with human rights and freedoms.
Vucevic asked the EU how much more time was needed to form the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities and what would happen to the agreements for which they had given a guarantee that they would be implemented.
He also referred to yesterday's visit to Sjenica, where he paid tribute to Sergeant Ivan Vasovic, who died at the age of 24 in Kosare, and visited the Vasovic family.
Vucevic pointed out Serbia's commitment to preserving peace and expressed the wish that no family in Serbia would go through what the Vasovic family had gone through and also that it not be forgotten or that "the sacrifice made by the heroes from Kosare falls into shadow."
"Let's not forget those people who gave their lives for Serbia. And that's why I'm proud that President Vucic restored the culture of remembrance to all those people who sacrificed themselves for our country," Vucevic said.
Vucevic invited all citizens to come to the airport in Batajnica on April 22 to attend the review of military equipment and added that it would be the biggest presentation of everything the Serbian Army has.
