Vucic with Bin Zayed on the attack on Iran: De-escalation and return to regional dialogue needed
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic spoke this evening with the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, about the Israeli-American attack on Iran and expressed hope that de-escalation would occur in the region and that dialogue would be restored.
“Spoke with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed about the current situation in the Middle East and the serious escalation that poses risks to regional and global security. I expressed solidarity with the people of the Emirates and wished for peace in the region, hoping that they will emerge stronger from all difficulties and challenges,” Vucic stated on Instagram.
He conveyed that during the conversation it was concluded that additional efforts are necessary toward urgent de-escalation and a return to dialogue, since, as he noted, only political and diplomatic solutions can ensure long-term stability for the region and the entire world.
“We confirmed our readiness to continue close communication and cooperation, convinced that a responsible and prudent approach by all actors represents the only sustainable path toward preserving peace and security,” Vucic added.
