Vucic: Excellent conversation with Trump, I expressed the hope that he will visit Serbia

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, after a telephone conversation with the newly elected US President Donald Trump, said that Serbia would work on improving relations with the US.

In a video published on Instagram, Vucic said that the conversation with Trump was meaningful and very good.

"I just finished a conversation with the newly elected President Donald Trump. The conversation was excellent, meaningful and, I would say, very cordial. I am grateful to Trump because he knew many things about Serbia very well, you won't believe he even talked about the sports successes of our country," Vucic said.

As he added, Trump expressed his gratitude for the support he had in Serbia during the presidential elections.

"I took the opportunity to, with the desire to further improve our relations in all spheres of social life, express the hope that he would visit Serbia, because Serbia was the country where the support for President Trump in the elections was the highest in Europe. He thanked for the enormous support which he receives from the citizens of Serbia, from the Serbian people, and I believe that in the coming period we will be able to discuss the improvement of our relations in all fields. I am sure that with the support of all our friends, he will be able to make America great, and we Serbia a decent country that will be able to cooperate very well with America," concluded Vucic.
