Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met today with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis and expressed his gratitude for Greece's continued support for Serbia's European path. He also emphasized that Belgrade appreciates Athens' principled and consistent position regarding respect for international law, Serbia's territorial integrity, and its sovereignty.

Following the meeting, Vucic stated that Serbia and Greece are traditional friends and partners and that there is significant room for further strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

“A cordial and substantive discussion with Giorgos Gerapetritis on further strengthening relations between Serbia and Greece, the European perspective of the region, the preservation of peace and stability in the Western Balkans, as well as the challenges we face in a complex geopolitical environment,” Vucic wrote on Instagram.

He said that special attention during the talks was devoted to enhancing cooperation in energy, infrastructure, trade, investment, and connectivity between the two countries.

“There is great potential for an even stronger strategic partnership between Serbia and Greece,” Vucic stated.

The Serbian president expressed gratitude to his interlocutor for Greece's continued support for Serbia's European integration process, as well as for its understanding of Serbia's positions on the country's most important state and national issues.

“We highly appreciate Greece's principled and consistent approach to respecting international law, Serbia's territorial integrity, and its sovereignty,” Vucic emphasized.

He assessed that today's meeting represents a continuation of the open and constructive dialogue he recently held with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the summit in Tivat, as well as another confirmation of the traditionally close and friendly relations between Serbia and Greece.
