Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic today, in a telephone conversation, informed Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov about attempts of persecution of the Serbian population in Kosovo, as well as about the silence of the majority of the international community.

“I informed Minister Lavrov about the internal situation, particularly regarding the state of Kosovo and Metohija and the ongoing attempts to persecute our population from their centuries-old homes, as well as the silence of most of the international community,” Vucic wrote on Instagram.

He stated that in a long and cordial conversation with Lavrov, they discussed bilateral relations.

“We agreed on further enhancement of economic cooperation, participation in joint projects, and at the same time analyzed political relations, with a view to further improving communication and cooperation in various forums, organizations, and institutions at the international level,” the Serbian President said.

Vucic added that they also discussed the situation, primarily political, in the region, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the externally induced crisis with ongoing attacks on the Republic of Srpska.

They agreed to continue working on developing relations between Serbia and Russia in various areas.
