Vucic: Kosovo Police incursion is Kurti's provocation to involve NATO in a conflict with Serbia

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic emphasized that the unauthorized crossing of the line by members of the Kosovo Police near the village of Cirkovice was a provocation ordered by Albin Kurti.

When asked whether he expects a reaction from KFOR, as requested by the Serbian Ministry of Defense, Vucic said he does not anticipate any reaction, except from the Americans.

"The Americans know that this was intentionally ordered by Kurti. He expected those individuals to be eliminated, which would serve as a reason to involve NATO in a conflict with Serbia," Vucic explained to RTS.

He announced that Serbia would respond differently next time, in full accordance with the rules of engagement.

"We are asking the Americans to inform us whether we are correct in saying that Kurti personally ordered this provocation and the incursion of his armed forces into the area near the village of Cirkovice," Vucic underscored.

Earlier today, the Serbian Ministry of Defense stated that "a group of heavily armed members of the so-called Kosovo Police unlawfully crossed the administrative line between central Serbia and the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija." The statement also noted that Serbian Armed Forces units in the Ground Safety Zone are monitoring the situation on the ground and are ready to respond in accordance with the provisions of the Military-Technical Agreement.
