Vucic: Kurti is the only one who wants war; he has been yearning to put on a uniform his whole life
Albin Kurti is the only one who wants war because he has yearned his whole life to put on a uniform and play the role of a "little Zelensky" in the Balkans, emphasized Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. When asked about Kurti's claims that Serbia is arming itself in preparation for an attack on Kosovo, Vucic said that Kurti dreams of war, while he dreams of a successful, economically developed Serbia, the most developed in the region by far.
"Are we arming ourselves? Yes, a bit more than he would like, much less than I would like. Just as they are arming themselves, being supplied by Turks, Germans, and Americans, much more than I would like. He is the only one who wants war. He has yearned his whole life to put on a uniform and play the role of a 'little Zelensky' in the Balkans. His wish will not come true because Kosovo has nothing to do with a sovereign, internationally recognized territory," he stated.
Vucic emphasized that Kurti's dreams are of war.
He pointed out that Serbia will continue to invest in its defense industry and to purchase everything necessary to be a deterrent to Kurti and others.
"We will continue with that and we are doing well. We make the best and buy the best. No one will ever be able to ban me from developing our defense industry and military. We do this only to deter types like Kurti and others," he stressed.
He announced that in the next month, leaders from numerous European and African countries will visit Serbia, and he himself will visit several countries to highlight Serbia's position and its efforts to maintain peace and stability.
"The next two weeks are very important for us. We will have many visits and departures. Thus, we will participate in the European Political Community Summit in London. I expect representatives of the largest European and African countries to be in Belgrade. All this will happen in the next month. We have a busy summer ahead of us," he explained.
For Serbia, he emphasized, it is most important in all these contacts to highlight Serbia's position and its efforts to maintain peace and stability.
"This is important because of the lies being spread about Serbia with the aim of dragging us into regional conflicts, and to misuse that against Serbia's vital interests. Therefore, we will have to respond more frequently," he said.
He conveyed that today he received an announcement of the largest Luxembourg investment, which is significant and will be important in the production of parts for electric cars.
He pointed out that Serbia has made great strides in its growth agenda and expressed confidence that it will be rewarded.
"We are ready to enter the growth agenda and apply for the first financial tranches. It is significant when you can count on 200 million euros, but more important for us is when we become part of a single market," he concluded.
