Vucic: Pristina has never wanted dialogue, it has one goal – the expulsion of Serbs

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, emphasized this evening that representatives of Pristina never wanted dialogue and that their main goal is the expulsion of Serbs.

Vucic, when asked by TV Pink about yesterday's new meeting between Serbia and Kosovo negotiators in Brussels, said that there was never any real dialogue or conversation.

"They never wanted dialogue, we never even shook hands. We never had real dialogue or conversations. They have always tried with tricks to blame Serbia for something bad happening on the ground, always with one goal in mind," Vucic explained.

He pointed out that these are people who are "Enver Hoxha-ists."

"Some say they are Stalinists, but I wouldn't even honor them with that term. It’s about an anarchist, Marxist, Hoxha-ist ideology, whose primary goal is the expulsion of Serbs, the destruction of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, and everything that can be done against Serbia," he emphasized.

He said that when such a goal exists, and there are no economic results or new factories, it is clear what they will do.

"They do not want dialogue or discussions and claim to be a sovereign state, saying they have nothing to discuss. When you see this, you know you're in a difficult situation because you see that the other side doesn’t want to discuss anything," he added.

He said he doesn’t believe better days are ahead, but rather that there will be countless problems.

"We are preparing for the assembly, for our measures, to help our people," he announced.

Vucic pointed out that today Pristina had been announcing the opening of the bridge on the Ibar all day and said that he would see if NATO would keep the promise they made to Serbia that they wouldn’t allow the bridge to be opened.

Asked about the working lunch that the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, is organizing tomorrow for Western Balkan leaders, Vucic said that it is an important meeting where discussions will focus on the growth agenda and reforms necessary for a unified European market, which, he added, means a prior unified Balkan market.

"I believe it will be an important meeting where the President of the European Commission will point out that Marta Kos will lead the part responsible for EU enlargement, and we will be introduced to the new agenda. I believe it will be a fair discussion, but that depends on Pristina and Sarajevo," Vucic underlined.

On the measures for Kosovo: We are not asking for anything more than what has already been agreed

In response to the observation that after presenting the measures for Kosovo, attacks came from both Pristina and the opposition, Vucic noted that the reaction from Pristina is always the same, regardless of the decisions Serbia makes.

What is important, he said, is that Serbia's friends around the world, from China and Russia, as well as partners in the West, carefully listened to these measures. He pointed out that none of them raised objections but said that the return to dialogue and dialogue results is important.

Vucic stressed that by asking for a return to the "status quo ante," Serbia is not asking for anything more than what has already been agreed.

"We are asking for the Community of Serbian Municipalities, the northern directorate for regional police, as well as peaceful and democratic elections in the north, not elections with a 3% turnout, for which they will still try to tell us that it's democracy and the highest standards," the President of Serbia said.

This, he explained, fills the legal vacuum because certain decisions are not void but non-existent, as they were made outside of international public law and everything that was arranged through dialogue.

"We declare these decisions non-existent and fill the legal vacuum. The measures are entirely legitimate and legal," Vucic said.

He added that while these measures are bothersome for Pristina, the majority of people in Kosovo, especially in the north, are thrilled with them, although he is aware that they live very difficult lives.

He also noted that there are never good or perfect solutions, nor can anyone bring such.

"That is why this is a serious, dedicated, responsible way of fighting, without throwing all of Serbia into the problem, as others might do," the President noted.

Regarding the opposition's attacks on the Kosovo measures, he responded by asking when the government has ever received support from the opposition on anything.

On the UN General Assembly: I will speak seriously and with arguments about Kosovo

Next week, Vucic will represent Serbia at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where he announced that he will primarily speak about Kosovo, in a serious and argumentative manner.

"I will mostly speak about Kosovo and Metohija, as well as international circumstances, hypocrisy, double standards, and everything we are facing. I will also present Serbia's vision for the future," Vucic said.

He added that it is planned for him to address the UN General Assembly during the morning session on the first day, which, he said, is "a good time, with more listeners than usual."
