Today, at a rally marking Statehood Day - Sretenje, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated that the gathering was not meant to preserve power or "anyone's chair," but because Serbia is threatened and attacked from outside, with internal assistance.

He mentioned three reasons for the ongoing "attempt at a colored revolution."

The first, he emphasized, is the fact that Serbia has not agreed to capitulate and perceives Kosovo as part of Serbia.

"Serbia has not agreed to capitulation. Serbia perceives Kosovo and Metohija as part of its territory, as part of Serbia. And it will always be so," Vucic stated, thanking the Serbs from Kosovo who came to the rally in Sremska Mitrovica.

As a second reason, he cited attempts to diminish Serbia's economic strength.

"The goal is for Serbia to be powerless, weaker than all. They have always strengthened everyone around us," noted the President of Serbia.

The third reason, he says, is the announced declaration on Vojvodina.

Vucic announced that Serbia will continue to preserve peace and stability and will never insult anyone, but will respond to everyone.

"Serbia will change and become stronger and stronger. With changes in the USA, with the changed relationship between the USA, Russia, and China, Serbia will become stronger," said Vucic.

He reminded that for three years the country has managed not to impose sanctions on Russia, because it is a free, independent, and sovereign country.

"We will impose sanctions on whom and when we want. We do not want to quarrel with traditional friends, we do not want to impose sanctions on Russia, we will preserve friendship with China, we want to join Europe, but you must respect us as much as we respect you. We ask for nothing else," Vucic stated.

Dalibor Stojanovic, originally from Gracanica, a doctor who recently returned to his hometown with his sister from Norway, also spoke at the rally. He called on all doctors and experts from abroad to return to their country.

"Serbia needs you, your knowledge and expertise truly have value only when we bring them back to our people," said Dalibor.

He explained that he and his sister were born and spent their entire lives in Kosovo, where they studied despite all hardships, completed their degrees and specializations with one goal - to heal people.

"In search of further education, life took us to Norway. That country offered us a lot except for the feeling of being among our own, of being at home, and having the warmth of home. The decision to return was determined by the love for our homeland. We decided to return and use our knowledge in the service of our people," said Dalibor.

This return represents hope and a sign that things in Serbia are changing for the better, he added.

"Our ancestors created the future for us, and we are responsible for creating the future for the generations to come. Only through strong, united efforts can we build it," said Dalibor Stojanovic.

Milan Knezevic, a member of the Parliament of Montenegro and leader of DNP, said that elections will come and go, but it is important that everyone embraces "under the holy flags" and says "that Vojvodina is Serbia, that Kosovo and Metohija are Serbia, and Montenegro and Serbia are dearest brothers."

"I would love, and I dream of it, that in these times of injustice and division, we all one day go on a pilgrimage to the holy city of Prizren. To all together visit Visoki Decani and the Patriarchate of Pec and to tell our tormented brothers in Kosovo and Metohija that they are not alone," Knezevic stated.

With congratulations for Serbia's Statehood Day, he said that Serbs in Montenegro, as well as all people of good will, want to build a common future with Serbia.

The Declaration on Vojvodina was adopted by acclamation

"At the call of President Vucic, the Declaration on Vojvodina was adopted by acclamation.

"Everything we talked about tonight and everything you could read through a historical context - to the conclusion that Vojvodina is Serbia and Serbia is Vojvodina, accept it here by acclamation," Vucic urged, to applause from the audience.

The text of the Declaration states that Vojvodina is an inseparable part of the national political, constitutional, and cultural identity of modern Serbia and as there is no Serbia without Vojvodina, so Vojvodina cannot exist outside of Serbia.

The document contains five points.

The first point refers to the historical development of Serbian Vojvodina, while the second discusses continuous attempts at statization of Vojvodina and imposing the idea of a so-called Vojvodinian nation which is noted to be without historical foundation, social, economic, and national justification, artificially created Vojvodinian separatism, euphemistically determined as "autonomism."

The third point discusses the constitutional and legal position of Vojvodina after World War II - from an autonomous province whose autonomy expands over a quasi-federal community to a return to the constitutional frameworks of standard political-territorial autonomy.

The fourth point describes the stopping of separatist tendencies and the return of AP Vojvodina to constitutional frameworks (2012-2014).

The fifth point is Vojvodina as a multicultural, multinational, and multiconfessional community based on the equality of citizens.

More than 1,000 Serbs from Kosovo arrived at the rally in Sremska Mitrovica

The rally was also attended by Serbs from Kosovo, and the vice-president of the Serb List, Igor Simic, said that more than 1,000 came to Sremska Mitrovica to celebrate the Statehood Day together and show the unity, concord, and harmony of the Serbian people.

Simic mentioned that if anyone knows how important unity is for the survival of the Serbian people and state, it is the Serbs from Kosovo.

He stated that the Serbs in Kosovo endure thanks to the strong support of the state of Serbia and President Aleksandar Vucic.

"We must be united and cohesive in these difficult times that have befallen all of Europe. Only with unity and togetherness can we respond to all the challenges that lie ahead for our people," Simic is convinced.
