Vucic: The situation in Kosovo is the most complicated it has ever been
During a conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark, Lars Lokke Rasmussen, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic emphasized that the situation in Kosovo was very complicated, and called on the international community to take all necessary measures to prevent dangerous and irresponsible actions by Pristina and to protect the Serbs.
Vucic in the conversation with Rasmussen, characterized the situation in Kosovo as the most complicated and dangerous to date, stating that the events of September 24th were the clearest indication of Pristina's intention to obstruct any agreement with Belgrade and the normal life of the Serbs in northern Kosovo.
He mentioned that Serbia was ready to continue the dialogue through the mediation of the EU and reminded that Belgrade had fulfilled all its obligations arising from the Brussels Agreement.
Vucic highlighted that the fragile peace in Kosovo was maintained thanks to the restraint of the Serbs, who made superhuman efforts to resist all pressures from the Pristina regime.
"The President emphasized the importance of further international presence in Kosovo and Metohija, and called on representatives of the international community to take all necessary measures to prevent dangerous and irresponsible actions by Pristina and to protect the Serbs in the province, as well as to withdraw members of the so-called Special Kosovo Police from the north of Kosovo and Metohija," the statement from the Serbian President's Media Cooperation Service said.
They also discussed Serbia's membership in the European Union, with Vucic noting that Serbia appreciated Denmark's support and proposed the initiation of cooperation in the field of professional development for civil servants within the framework of European integration.
Vucic and Rasmussen exchanged views on various topics of mutual interest, including the intensification of economic and IT sector cooperation, environmental issues, biotechnology, culture, and others.
