A Working Group Formed to Prevent Kosovo's Admission to the Council of Europe
The Serbian government has formed a Working Group to coordinate the activities of state bodies that will fight against Kosovo's admission to the Council of Europe. The group will be led by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic, with his deputy being the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic. As Kosovo Online learns, the first meeting has been scheduled for today.
The task of the Working Group is to undertake activities to prevent Kosovo's admission to the Council of Europe and is tasked with acting towards representatives of the member states of the Council of Europe and other states in that direction.
In addition to Dacic and Petkovic who will head the Working Group, the team members include Minister of Foreign and Internal Trade Tomislav Momirovic, Minister for European Integration Tanja Miscevic, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Cooperation Katarina Lalic, and Presidential Foreign Policy Advisor Tatjana Jovic.
Also in the Working Group are the Chief of Cabinet of the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Bojana Andjelkovic, the Director of the Office for Coordination of Negotiation Processes with the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government in Pristina Milan Ravic, the Assistant Director of the Office for Coordination of Negotiation Processes with the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government in Pristina Marko Antic, the Chief of Cabinet of the President of the National Assembly Milos Popovic, the Deputy General Secretary of the Government Petar Janjic, the Head of the National Assembly Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Biljana Pantic Pilja, Ambassador Aleksandra Djurovic, Assistant Minister of Defense Predrag Bandic, Advisor in the General Secretariat of the Government Nikola Stojanovic, while Marko Music has been appointed as secretary, Kosovo Online learns.
The Working Group was formed at the request of the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, who requested it yesterday at an extraordinary session of the Government.
