The fact that a larger number of Serbs from the Kosovo and Metohija region participated in these elections compared to last year is a clear message, despite all the challenges we have faced in the meantime, as it shows that Serbs not only want to participate in the electoral process but also indicates what kind of policies they support, Dalibor Jevtic, Vice President of the Serb List, says for Kosovo Online.

"Another message is that, as a people, we are united despite all the challenges we face, and I think it is essential to emphasize this because unity is something we need, and this unity is what keeps us going in the current conditions in which we live in the Kosovo and Metohija region. Also, a very important message is that, despite the repression, we endure as a people, we still only believe in our state – the state of Serbia," Jevtic evaluates.

According to him, messages were also directed to opposition leaders in Serbia "who tried to divide us when they were coming to the Kosovo and Metohija region, instead of speaking in the context of what our life and unity as a people should be down in Kosovo and Metohija."

"They came with messages that we can hear from Pristina, which we also hear from Kurti. So, everything Kurti said, Aleksic and Jovanovic said too, as well as all those who were coming before the elections, and they only come to the Kosovo and Metohija region before the elections. In the context of all this, Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija unequivocally showed that, first, they are determined to stay and survive in the Kosovo and Metohija region, that they know who helps them the most at this moment, which is the state of Serbia, President Aleksandar Vucic, and the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, and that regardless of all the challenges we have ahead, regardless of all the pressures they put on us, as obstacles to normal life – I primarily mean Kurti and the regime in Pristina – regardless of all that, we stay and endure," Jevtic emphasizes.

He adds that, as someone who lives with his family in the Kosovo and Metohija region, he can attest to the pressures they are exposed to.

"That is why I say the messages were sent to all those who are part of the agenda putting pressure on the Serbian people in the Kosovo and Metohija region. And all those who believed, cheered, and wanted something different now have received a very clear message that what the Serbian people in the Kosovo and Metohija region believe in is President Aleksandar Vucic and the state of Serbia, and there is no pressure that will change our faith and trust," Jevtic concludes.
