Former Kosovo police officer Dejan Pantic's house arrest was extended for another two months, his son Predrag Pantic confirmed for Kosovo Online.

Pantic stated that there were no new details in the decision on the extension of house arrest, and that they had hoped that his father would be granted the freedom to defend himself, but that, unfortunately, this did not happen this time either.

"We were only told that my father's detention was extended, without any new details. We don't have any new information, no hearing has been scheduled and we don't know where the case is going. We were hoping that house arrest would be extended once or twice, as it is usually a procedure, and that after that he will be released to defend himself. From the very beginning, there are no rules, we no longer know what to expect," Pantic said.

He announced that his father's representative will file an appeal, but that they do not hope that it will be accepted.

"The lawyer will appeal the decision to the Higher Court of Appeal, but frankly, neither he nor we hope that the appeal will be accepted. From the beginning, we hoped that something would be resolved through legal means, but there are no rules here. They do whatever they want, last time they announced five days after the end of the house arrest that the house arrest was being extended," Pantic added.

He emphasized that no evidence was presented against his father.

"The evidence definitely doesn't exist, but they don't give in and don't want to admit that they were wrong," said Pantic.

Dejan Pantic's health condition, according to his son Predrag, is variable but stable.

"The fact that he is still confined within four walls affects him psychologically," concludes Pantic.
