Evacuation flights by Air Serbia continue – Tomorrow from Dubai, Monday from Riyadh
Air Serbia has announced that the next evacuation flight organized by the national airline in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Serbia is scheduled for 8 March, departing from Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport. The flight will be operated by an Airbus aircraft with a capacity of 260 passengers. Around 250 Serbian citizens returned from Dubai yesterday.
For Monday, 9 March, two repatriation flights are planned from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, intended for the evacuation of Serbian citizens from Saudi Arabia, as well as Serbian nationals currently located in Kuwait, Qatar, and Bahrain, Air Serbia said in a statement reported by RTS.
The planned flights will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft, each with a capacity of 180 passengers.
According to the statement, all preparations for the repatriation flights are underway, including the procurement of the necessary permits, while security assessments for overflight and landing in the territories of the UAE and Saudi Arabia are being continuously monitored.
Around 250 Serbian citizens arrived in Belgrade yesterday on the first evacuation flight from Dubai.
Air Serbia has called on all citizens of the Republic of Serbia wishing to register for the evacuation flights to contact the nearest diplomatic-consular missions of the Republic of Serbia in order to obtain all relevant information regarding registration procedures and flight schedules.
In the newly emerging circumstances of heightened security risks, Air Serbia will continue, in cooperation with the competent institutions of the Republic of Serbia, to organize the return of Serbian citizens to the country and to undertake all necessary measures to ensure their safety, which represents the absolute priority of Serbia and its national airline, the statement concludes.
