Kosovo police prevented grandparents with grandkids from entering Kosovo due to KM plates
The Kosovo police at the Jarinje crossing did not allow the couple Cukovic from Leposavic, Milutin and Nada, to enter Kosovo today, who were returning to their home from the town of Raska with their two grandchildren.
As their daughter-in-law Danijela Cukovic confirmed for Kosovo online, her father-in-law and mother-in-law waited in line with their children for more than an hour and a half, and when it was their turn to be controlled at the crossing, they were told that they could not pass because their car was not registered.
"My father-in-law's car is registered with KM plates and a new registration sticker was obtained on November 29. The Kosovo police at the crossing told them their license plates were invalid, the sticker was not even mentioned. This is pure terror. Why didn't they inform them when they went from the direction of Leposavic, they only asked for their identity cards, and they didn't even ask for documents for the children," Cukovic said.
According to her, the children were upset, both because of waiting in line and due to the actions of the police not allowing them to pass.
"I went to pick them up at the crossing, they crossed on foot, and the car was returned to Raska and left on the side of the road. Who should we turn to now? We paid for the vehicle registration and now what about that money? What will happen next, not only for us, but also for other Serbs who have KM license plates?" Cukovic asked.
