Milica Vlaskovic: My son is not guilty, I trust in God and justice
Milica Vlaskovic, the mother of the arrested Nemanja Vlaskovic, addressed the gathered citizens in front of the municipal building in Leposavic, stating that her son is not guilty, that he is innocent.
With tears in her eyes and a trembling voice, Vlaskovic expressed that her son, Nemanja, only participated in a peaceful protest, emphasizing that every lie and accusation against him is too heavy.
"My people, it is very difficult for me, too difficult. Sorrow and pain, fear, and dark thoughts. Today, I stand here, not knowing how I'm standing, but I stand for Nemanja, for all the children. God, give me strength. I stand before all the mothers who share my grief, my pain, who share my fate. You know, God knows, and they know, my son, as an honorable son of his people, expressed a peaceful and dignified protest and disagreement against the force imposed upon us. Every accusation and lie directed against my child is heavy and too heavy," Vlaskovic conveyed.
Vlaskovic added that her son is not guilty of the charges brought against him.
"I beg you, God, he is innocent, and I trust in Your justice as a mother. They can point fingers at any one of us. He expressed a peaceful protest, which every person in the world has the right to do, but unfortunately, they can target and arrest us here. My child is not guilty, my son is innocent, the children are innocent. I fear that this is not the end," Vlaskovic said.
She asked why they were being taken away and when this would all end.
"My son keeps me standing here so that I don't fall. If I fall, he will fall with me in the justice of God," Vlaskovic stated.
Nemanja Vlaskovic, who was arrested by the Kosovo Police members for allegedly attacking journalists, has been remanded in custody for 30 days by the Basic Court in North Mitrovica.
