The Pristina authorities were confiscating land owned by the Serbs in the north of Kosovo, because it was rich in ore marl, former minister for returns in the Kosovo government and former director of the Office for Community Affairs, Ivan Milojevic, told Kosovo Online, stressing that they needed that ore for the production of cement in Kacanik.

Milojevic thus responded to the statement of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti that "the expropriation of land in the north was not against the Serbs, but because of organized crime", assessing it as untrue.

He emphasized that Kurti and the Pristina authorities were "in organized manner stealing marl from private individuals" because they did not have enough resources for the cement plant in Kacanik.

"As a citizen and as someone who lives there and whose ancestors have been there for hundreds of years, I can say that neither Murat nor Murti, and let alone Kurti, will drive us away from there," Milojevic said.

He believes that behind Kurti's statements about "expropriation" is hidden "robbery and organized crime" and points out that if there were no ash from Obilic, production at the cement plant in Kacanik would stop.

"He knows it well. He should not hide behind false motives of fighting organized crime, first of all, he is carrying out organized crimes against us," Milojevic told Kosovo Online.

He reminded that marl was ore and that there was a huge amount of it in the north of Kosovo, which had been confirmed by the researchers of the Trepca Institute from the 50s of the last century.

Milojevic emphasized that the largest plot of land that the Pristina authorities wanted to take away was in the village of Dren and warned that a large number of private individuals would be harmed if this was not prevented.

Milojevic said that the Serbian side wanted to resolve the situation peacefully and diplomatically, but that his expectations were not optimistic.

"They plan to leave the Serbs, especially in the north, without any hope that they can organize their lives in their communities in the manner of a worthy human being," Milojevic concluded.
