Posters featuring photos of children victims of Kosovo Albanian torture appeared in northern Kosovo
This morning, new posters appeared in northern Kosovo featuring photos of children who have endured torture and abuse at the hands of Kosovo Albanians.
Today marks World Children's Day, and the posters depict some of the incidents that occurred across Kosovo in which Serbian children were injured.
At the top of each photo, today’s date is displayed with a reminder that it is World Children's Day. At the bottom, the names of the injured children are listed alongside dates and descriptions of what happened on those days.
The posters include photos of the injured brothers Stefan and Milos Stojanovic from Gotovusa, who were shot on Orthodox Christmas Eve last year, Nikola Peric from Gojbulja, who was beaten on July 1, 2021, during which the cross he wore around his neck was torn off.
There are also photos of Mihajlo Stankovic from Kosovska Kamenica, who was beaten on August 23, 2021, and Lazar Milutinovic from Suvi Do near Kosovska Mitrovica.
One poster includes an image of the violent arrest of four Serbian youths in Kosovska Mitrovica, as well as photos of ROSU special police vehicles at a kindergarten in Leposavic, and graffiti of the UCK (Kosovo Liberation Army) written on children’s playgrounds.
At certain locations, torn and removed posters were also visible.
Later today, a panel discussion will be held in North Mitrovica in the amphitheater of the Faculty of Technical Sciences to mark International Children's Day. The discussion is scheduled for 12 PM and is organized by the Student Parliament of the University of Pristina, temporarily based in Kosovska Mitrovica.
