The President of the Serb List, Zlatan Elek, along with his associates, met today in North Mitrovica with Zuzana Michalcova Sutiakova, Head of the Western Balkans Division of the European External Action Service, and Alexis Hupin, Head of the Kosovo Desk.

The representatives of the Serb List, as stated in the announcement, pointed out during the meeting the extremely difficult situation faced by the Serbian community in Kosovo, created by the Pristina administration with the aim of driving everything Serbian out of these areas.

“Representatives of the European External Action Service were informed of the systematic violations of the Serbian community’s rights by Kosovo institutions, particularly in the form of police brutality, repression, arbitrary arrests, and daily harassment experienced by our citizens. A clear call was made for the European Union to urgently intervene and prevent the institutional violence being carried out by the Pristina authorities. It was stressed that previous measures and statements have been entirely inadequate, as the violence against our people continues. The urgent need to establish the Community of Serb Municipalities, which the Serbian community has been awaiting for 11 years, was emphasized, as it is intended to provide institutional protection for the rights of Serbs,” the statement from the Serb List reads.
