Residents of Gracanica: We are disturbed, provocations are unnecessary in these tense times
The residents of Gracanica expressed their distress following last night’s incident when convoys of cars bearing KLA and Albanian flags, accompanied by various chants and slogans, disrupted traffic. Speaking to Kosovo Online, they warn that such provocations are unnecessary in these already tense times.
Dusan Borisavljevic, a resident of Gracanica who was on the street during the incident, described the scene as unsettling.
“Provocations like this are unnecessary, especially in these tense times. I believe it is pointless and just the whim of a few individuals, whether they are young or not. I was on the street as they passed, and it wasn’t pleasant. It never will be pleasant to experience something like that,” Borisavljevic said.
Bosiljka Dancetovic from Gracanica says that residents are now thinking about what the future holds after such incidents.
“Of course we are disturbed when things like this happen. We are thinking about our future, wondering what lies ahead. What they did wasn’t right,” she said.
Zarko Martinovic adds that the events have frightened both children and the elderly.
“We are all disturbed. We didn’t expect them to come and cause such problems. It would have been fine if they had just passed with flags, but getting out of their cars to provoke… That frightened both children and the elderly,” Martinovic said.
