Tojcic: Politically motivated cases against Serbs for social media posts
Aleksa Tojcic, a lawyer from the Center for Social Stability, says that court cases in Kosovo related to social media posts are politically motivated and, therefore, indefensible from a legal standpoint.
"In legal terms, it is difficult to discuss defense strategies because these are politically motivated processes. Such quasi-institutions, when we talk about Kosovo and Metohija, will not consider any legal arguments. What remains for our people in Kosovo and Metohija is to be wise and not to fall for these attempts by Albin Kurti to escalate the situation further. I believe his goal is to drag us into conflicts that would not benefit Serbia or the Serbian people at this time," Tojcic said.
He doubts that the international community will take any concrete actions beyond issuing strong statements and condemnations.
He is encouraged by the announcement from French President Emmanuel Macron, who stated that he would personally advocate for improving conditions for the Serbian community and for the formation of the CSM.
"The EU has so far not taken any concrete steps that could confirm their words and supposed condemnations at a practical level. However, what can somewhat encourage us is the position expressed by French President Emmanuel Macron, who said he would continue to monitor the situation of Serbs in northern Kosovo and Metohija and personally advocate for the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities. I think this is something that can be encouraging when it comes to this issue," Tojcic concluded.
