In North Mitrovica this evening, the Kosovo Police conducted a search of the apartment of one of the two Serbs detained earlier today.

As a Kosovo Online reporting team confirmed on site, several police vehicles were parked in front of the building where one of the detained individuals resides.

Police officers left the apartment shortly after 9 p.m.

Earlier today, Kosovo Police detained two men in North Mitrovica suspected of being employees of Posta Srbije (Serbian Post), as confirmed to Kosovo Online by the Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police for the North region, Veton Elshani.

“They were distributing Serbian mail in Kosovo, which is illegal. These included court summons, court decisions, tax administration letters and other documents. A case has been opened for economic crime,” Elshani stated earlier, adding that the case is being handled by the Department for Economic Crime in Mitrovica.

The Director of Posta Srbije in Kosovo, Ivan Milojevic, confirmed that the two men detained for distributing mail have been released and will defend themselves in regular proceedings.
