Kurtaj was detained for 30 days; evaluated that he intended to kill the Serbian boys
The General Court in Urosevac ordered Azem Kurtaj, suspected of shooting two Serbian boys in Gotovusa near Strpce, to be detained for one month, Koha reports.
The Court's announcement states that the judge for the preliminary proceedings of the Department for Serious Criminal Offenses assessed that there was a suspicion that Azem Kurtaj deliberately had tried to kill Stefan and Milos Stojanovic in Gotovusa near Strpce.
"When he arrived at the entrance of the village with his car, he noticed some citizens at the end of the road, and in order to drive them away, he honked his horn. Unable to continue, he stopped the car and after a verbal argument, he took out a revolver and shot twice causing bodily injuries to a boy and a young man. They were first sent to the Health Center in Strpce, and then to the hospital in Gracanica," the Court's announcement states.
Also, it is known that, contrary to the law on weapons in Kosovo, the suspect used a weapon with a permit.
Azem Kurtaj's lawyer said today during the court hearing that his client had shot 21-year-old Milos and 11-year-old Stefan in self-defense.
