Miroslav Gudzic from Dobrotin was beaten today by a group of unknown attackers in Donja Gusterica, after which he was admitted to the Clinical Hospital Center Pristina, temporarily based in Gracanica. As he recounted, in an attempt to avoid the incident, he sought shelter in the premises of the Health Center in Donja Gusterica, but the attackers entered and continued to beat him. During the incident, an employee of the health institution was also injured while trying to defend him and was likewise hospitalized.

Gudzic stated that the incident occurred after, on the Dobrotin–Gusterica road, a Volkswagen Golf overtook a line of vehicles and nearly hit him.

“Today in the late morning hours, around 11 a.m., I set off from Dobrotin toward Gusterica. Near the Dobrotin cemetery, a white car with license plates 01, I believe a Golf V, began overtaking several vehicles. I flashed my lights to warn him that we were about to collide. I stopped, and he passed by me. I continued toward Gusterica, and at the intersection near the Premija market, someone hit my car on the rear right side. I stopped to see who it was and saw three young Albanians. They were shouting something from the car; I didn’t know who they were,” Gudzic said.

After that, he added, another car he had encountered earlier joined them, and, as he emphasized, they were persistent in trying to stop him.

“At that moment, I wanted to continue my journey and avoid the whole situation. I kept driving, and the car I had encountered near the Dobrotin cemetery blocked my path. I somehow managed to bypass that blockade and turned into the street toward the Health Center, hoping they would give up. They continued to follow me. I think there were three vehicles—I don’t clearly remember—but at one point I saw three cars in my rearview mirror. The first was an Opel Corsa, followed by a white Golf and a black Golf,” he said.

He explained that he tried to take refuge in the Health Center in Donja Gusterica, but they forced their way in, began beating him, and dragged him outside. In the attempt to defend him, an employee of the institution also sustained injuries.

“I saw they wanted a confrontation, so I tried to turn into the yard of the Health Center in Donja Gusterica. They blocked my path again. I somehow reached the administrative building, jumped out of the car and ran into an office to hide. Five or six of them came after me. They burst into the office and started hitting me, pulling me, trying to drag me out. There was a worker, a nurse, who tried to defend me, and they attacked her as well. Just imagine, she only tried to defend me. Then they dragged me outside and beat me,” Gudzic emphasized.

According to him, he does not know the attackers and believes the only motive for the attack was that he is Serbian and drives a car with Serbian license plates.

“I don’t know who these people are. I don’t know their motive. I didn’t provoke them in any way, didn’t endanger anyone, didn’t even think badly of anyone. The only motive is that I am Serbian and that I drive a car with Nis license plates. I see no other reason why they would attack me,” he said.

He added that while beating him, they threatened him and used insults.

“They insulted my Serbian mother, threatened to find me anywhere, and kept cursing me the whole time. They were shouting, threatening—I have never in my life seen so much hatred and bloodlust in people’s eyes. Their eyes were monstrous,” Gudzic recounted.

The case has been reported to the police, who took his statement at the hospital.

“I asked the Health Center staff to call the police immediately. The police came here; I gave a statement. A case has been opened, and they told me to come to the police station in Gracanica to give a detailed statement,” he added.

He stated that, in addition to physical injuries, he has suffered emotionally, but stressed that he is not afraid.

“Physically—I am in very bad condition, I am injured. Psychologically—also very bad, spiritually shaken, but I am strong and not afraid. I am not afraid of them, not even if we meet again,” Gudzic said.

The director of the Clinical Hospital Center Pristina, temporarily based in Gracanica, Bratislav Lazic, stated that the patients are currently in stable condition, but that an assessment of their injuries will only be possible after complete diagnostics.

“Two injured persons were admitted today at 12:20 p.m. to the surgical clinic of the Clinical Hospital Center Pristina, based in Gracanica, with injuries sustained in a fight, according to their statements. They were brought by ambulance, admitted to our clinic, and are currently undergoing evaluation and further diagnostics. At the moment, their condition is stable, but we will be able to comment on additional details and the severity of their injuries only after the completion of full diagnostics,” Lazic said.
