Jevtic: Serb List is the only Serbian option preventing the displacement of Serbs and a “Greater Albania”

On the eve of tomorrow’s elections in Kosovo, Dalibor Jevtic, Vice President of the Serb List, stressed that this party is the only Serbian option which—by winning all 10 seats in parliament—will be able, through institutions, to oppose the policies of Albin Kurti aimed at displacing Serbs and creating a “Greater Albania.”

Speaking to RTS, Jevtic recalled that tomorrow’s vote will be the third election cycle in Kosovo this year, and that the Serb List managed, in the previous parliamentary and local elections, to initiate a wave of change and push back against Kurti’s interests.

He underlined that it is of crucial importance for all Serbs to turn out and vote for the Serb List, thereby preventing what Kurti has done with Albanian and Bosniak votes—“forcing” Nenad Rasic into a seat allocated to the Serbian community and falsely portraying Serbian support for his policies.

“With strong support, this can be prevented. There is a national interest in all 10 parliamentary seats reserved for the Serbian people going to Serbian representatives, so that no one can trade with their interests,” Jevtic emphasized.

He pointed out that since Kurti came to power there has been institutional violence, arrests based on false indictments of Serbs, all aimed at their displacement.

“It is crucial that we can prevent the continuation of such a policy through institutions—a policy of Albin Kurti’s ethno-nationalism,” Jevtic stressed.

He added that unity is key.

“We must demonstrate unity, because only the strength of unity can oppose such a policy. This is our strongest protection mechanism for the Serbian people—the protection of institutional interests, education and healthcare, which are the pillars of survival. If we show unity in a decisive and strong way, we will prevent Kurti from implementing an agenda that runs counter to the interests of the Serbian people,” Jevtic explained.

He said the Serbian people had faced the fact that one individual who took a seat from the Serbian quota acted against Serbian interests, never raised his voice, and served to showcase a supposed multiethnicity, enabling Kurti to claim he had Serbian support.

the Serb List, he stressed, opposed all initiatives within institutions aimed at implementing policies of Serbian displacement and ethnic cleansing.

“While Rasic was in parliament, we witnessed what happened in the north—the closure of Serbian institutions—and he tried to tell Serbs that this was acceptable,” Jevtic noted.

He reiterated that by winning all 10 seats, the Serb List would be in a position to stop Kurti from carrying out his policy—namely, the creation of a “Greater Albania,” which, Jevtic said, requires weakening the Serbian people.

He stated that the Serb List is the only Serbian option in these elections and that no other option represents the interests of the Serbian people.

Jevtic welcomed the decision of two candidates from Rasic’s party to leave him, saying this shows that lies have an expiration date and that they realized his policies are harmful to the Serbian people.

“It has once again been confirmed that the Serb List is the single Serbian option in these elections and that it preserves an unbreakable link with Belgrade. A vote for the Serb List is the only way to ensure security for everyone living in these areas,” Jevtic said.

He noted that, after taking office, mayors in the north launched a wave of change and that certain facilities are being returned to citizens. He recalled that the Serb List’s first convention was held in a hall returned to the Serbian people and added that the campaign has been unfolding in a positive atmosphere.

“That positive atmosphere is unstoppable and sends a message to Kurti that sowing fear cannot help Rasic win even a single seat,” Jevtic explained.

By voting for the Serb List, he added, the Serbian people gain the assurance that no one who fails to protect their interests will speak on their behalf, that those who gradually return what belongs to the Serbian people will receive support, and that institutions will be staffed by people who defend Serbian interests.

“The devastating consequence of Kurti’s policy is the fact that Serbs have been leaving the north, as well as areas south of the Ibar, due to a sense of insecurity. We want to restore faith and security. But miracles cannot happen overnight. We have already launched a process. On Sunday, we are taking an exam for a perfect score of ten. Let’s deliver the final blow to Kurti and tell him that he has failed to displace and defeat us,” Jevtic concluded.
