The European Parliament’s Rapporteur for Kosovo, Riho Terras, pointed out that the low voter turnout in yesterday’s snap parliamentary elections in Kosovo indicates that people are frustrated with the ongoing political chaos.
Terras stressed that cooperation among political parties in Kosovo is needed.
“Low voter turnout in Kosovo’s snap elections shows that people are frustrated with political chaos. Cooperation between parties is needed to put the country back on the right track and move it toward the EU,” Terras wrote on the social media platform X.
Today, the Central Election Commission (CEC), alongside preliminary results, announced that voter turnout in the elections stood at 37.05 percent, with 726,071 of the 1,959,962 registered voters casting their ballots.
According to Kosovo Press, this marks the lowest voter turnout rate since 2001.
