Abdixhiku: By accepting the proposal, Kurti fulfilled Serbia's wish - an agreement without recognition

The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, assessed that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti had accepted the European proposal tonight in Brussels, thus fulfilling Serbia's goal, considering that it did not contain mutual recognition.

"The Prime Minister's statements about the already accepted proposal, which was not presented to the assembly, confirm the concerns of the LDK. This proposal is not final. The political status of the two countries can be interpreted ambiguously. Everything but recognition - that was Serbia's goal," Abdixhiku wrote on Facebook.

He added that the accepted document foresaw the implementation of all previous agreements - including the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, as well as a special status for the Serbian Orthodox Church.

"The prime minister only needs to agree on the date of establishment of the Community, since by accepting the implementation of the preliminary agreements, he agreed to establish it,” Abdixhiku said

He adds that LDK's position is that Kurti completely mismanaged the dialogue process in the last two years, which moved the dialogue away from a legally binding final agreement to a basic agreement, without recognition, with the continuation of talks in the following period.

"Conclusion - for the choice between such an agreement and the eventual isolation of Kosovo, the responsibility is put on the prime minister," Abdixhiku wrote.
