Albanians protest in Vienna: We do not accept Specialist Chambers judgment
Albanians living in Austria gathered in central Vienna today to protest against the judgment delivered by the Specialist Chambers in The Hague against four former KLA leaders.
The protest was held at Heldenplatz, between the OSCE headquarters and the offices of the Austrian Government and the Austrian President.
Participants carried Albanian and KLA flags, as well as Kosovo flags and flags bearing images of Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, along with images of KLA founder Adem Jashari.
Flags depicting a “Greater Albania” could also be seen, while songs referring to a “Greater Albania from Tirana to Bujanovac” were heard.
Hashim Thaci’s relative, Idriz Thaci, was also among those attending the protest.
Representatives of Kosovo Albanian associations in Vienna, as well as several veterans, addressed the gathering, stating that Albanians did not accept the judgment of the Specialist Chambers.
They said that “the KLA is not a criminal organization” and that “the war it waged cannot be characterized as such.”
