President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met in Baku with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, thanking him for Azerbaijan’s consistent and principled support for Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Vucic began his two-day official visit to Azerbaijan with the meeting with Aliyev.

The Serbian president stated that the talks once again confirmed the close relations the two countries have been building for years.

“I thanked President Aliyev, a great friend of Serbia, for the consistent and principled support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country, as well as for the respectful and understanding approach that Azerbaijan demonstrates toward Serbia,” Vucic wrote on Instagram.

He added that they also discussed the further enhancement of the strategic partnership between Serbia and Azerbaijan, particularly in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and investments, as well as projects of importance for economic development and the secure future of citizens.

“We particularly emphasized the importance of investments in the development of spa tourism and the construction of new energy capacities, including a gas-fired power plant. We remain committed to strengthening relations with Azerbaijan, relying on strong friendship, shared interests, and a clear vision of long-term cooperation that contributes to the stability and development of both countries,” Vucic stated.
