Antonijevic on the US decision: The first reaction, which is not verbal, can change some relations in Kosovo

After Washington's decision to cancel Kosovo's participation in the joint exercise "Defender Europe 2023", because Pristina ignored the request of the US to de-escalate the situation in the north, lawyer Milan Antonijevic says for Kosovo Online that this is an expected decision, which should be welcomed and the first reaction of the US which it is not only verbal and can change some relations in Kosovo.

"It is expected (decision), given that official Washington does not support the action of the Kosovo Police in the north. It was also expected that they would not support the Kosovo forces in terms of training and joint exercises," Antonijevic said.

He also reminded that the action of the Kosovo Police had been strongly condemned by the US and the European Union.

"This is the first concrete reaction, which is not verbal, but related to actions that can damage the reputation in the long term and change some relations in Kosovo. Anyone who wants peace and stability must welcome this decision of the American administration," Antonijevic said.
