Former ambassador Avni Arifi said that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti had lost his compass in the dialogue with Serbia, if he ever had it under control, Gazeta Blic reports.

He believes that Kurti's government has been making thoughtless and naive decisions from the beginning of the dialogue, and that they continue to do so, as if it has led Kosovo onto a path without a solution.

Arifi commented on the statement made by Kosovo Assembly President Glauk Konjufca that Kosovo will withdraw from the dialogue if the CSM is demanded that is not in line with the Kosovo Constitution.

"Since the beginning of the dialogue, Kurti's government has consistently taken completely unstable and naive positions that continuously lead Kosovo into a situation without a way out. All actions in the north and behavior in the dialogue are thoughtless euphoria about actions and especially their consequences. When I say this, I mean all the moves, from license plates to the Serbs leaving institutions to changing positions related to the Association," he says.

According to Arifi, the Self-Determination Movement gives the impression that it is still a hostage to its previous views on the dialogue.

"It is unclear why there is a complete lack of vision, goals, and strategy in the dialogue. Sometimes it creates the impression that the Self-Determination Movement is a hostage to its previous relationship with the dialogue, and sometimes they do not know what they are doing or who they are doing it for! Kosovo has an inter-party consensus that it will have a CSM (with the exception of the Self-Determination Movement) but without executive powers. However, with the approach of the Movement and Kurti, no other proposed version would be a surprise," Arifi assesses.

He emphasizes that it is wrong to think that an adequate Statute for the CSM can be adopted with the currently proposed draft.
