Baraliu: It is in Kosovo’s interest for Osmani to receive another term

University professor Mazllum Baraliu believes that deputies of the tenth convocation of the parliament should support Vjosa Osmani in obtaining a second presidential term because, in his view, she has played an important role in affirming and representing Kosovo on the international stage over the past five years.

“She deserves another term. Any other consensus candidate that the opposition might seek, with all due respect, cannot replace the role she can now play after five years of experience and successful contribution to the affirmation of Kosovo. It would be in Kosovo’s best interest for her to receive another term,” Baraliu told Kosova Press.

Analyzing Osmani’s five-year tenure, Baraliu says that she has represented Kosovo with dignity on the international stage and also credits her with the main merits for securing four new recognitions of Kosovo during the past year.

“If we judge impartially in the interest of the republic, I am convinced that through her activities she has achieved an outstanding affirmation of Kosovo in international circles. She is a person who, not only in Kosovo but also compared with other leaders, including the caretaker prime minister and others, has had visits around the world and met with the most important figures. She has affirmed and represented foreign policy, which under the Constitution falls within her remit, in the most dignified and successful manner. We have four recognitions, for which the greatest credit goes to the president of the country,” Baraliu added.
