Brnabic on Brussels: I am not optimistic, but I would like an agreement to be reached

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic says she is not optimistic that there will be any agreement between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels today, RTV reports.

"I'm not optimistic in the context of what we've been talking about. You can see that in the country, they are trying to weaken the position of President Aleksandar Vucic and the Government of Serbia in such difficult times. At a time when the president should focus on defending the interests of Serbia, they (the opposition) talk nonsense about bologna and whether the president ate it or not, which is senseless and shows their irresponsibility," Brnabic said on TV Pink.

Brnabic emphasized that the president had enough focus and emotional stability to leave all that behind and defend the interests of the country in the best way possible today.

The prime minister also said that she would like there to be some agreement because Serbia needed peace and stability to continue with growth and development. However, as she said, she doesn't think Kurti wants an agreement and assesses that it unfortunately won't change today.

"We are following the talks; I will see if we can help from here," Brnabic said.

As she added, anyone who does not participate in these talks cannot even imagine the atmosphere in Brussels, where various provocations are taking place.

"Kurti wants us to lose our nerves and not be tolerant but to start some kind of conflict. And again, those who are most in favor of Kosovo's independence want to use that and return to the cliche of two sides," Brnabic said.

The prime minister also noted that the pressure on Serbs in Kosovo was terrible and that the president should protect them and the citizens in central Serbia and continue attracting investments.
