The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic said today that the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities had to be on the agenda now, and emphasized that the credibility of the EU rested on its implementation, RTV reports.

"In terms of EU integration, regional cooperation, and a stable and peaceful region, certainly the number one item is the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. At this moment, the CSM must really be on the agenda," Brnabic said, adding that the first agreement on the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina was signed in 2013.

Brnabic reminded that soon, on April 19, it would be 10 years since the signing of the Brussels Agreement.

"Six items in the Brussels Agreement refer to the CSM and the credibility of the EU now rests on the implementation and the formation of the CSM and then we can move on," Brnabic said in the opening part of the regional conference "Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Western Balkans, Perspectives - Western Balkans, Transatlantic cooperation and civil society", where she spoke about the two most important foreign policy goals of Serbia.

Brnabic reminded that Serbia had worked more than ever on reforms in the area of the rule of law and had completed the difficult and complex process of constitutional amendments, and changes to the constitution in the area of the judiciary...

"We adopted all the laws in the field of justice that were supposed to be adopted and harmonized with those changes," the prime minister said and emphasized that the next big thing was the full implementation of the media strategy.

"We are not doing it solely because of our EU integrations," the Prime Minister said.

"As Prime Minister, I deeply believe that all the reforms we are implementing, which are important for us and our citizens, and which will ensure that Serbia will be a stronger and more stable country in the political, economic, and administrative sense, those reforms will ultimately lead us to the EU, but when we will become a member depends on the member states themselves," Brnabic said.

Brnabic participated in the conference, which was also attended by the Minister for European Integration Tanja Miscevic, where Norwegian Ambassador Jorn Eugen Gjelstad and American Ambassador Christopher Hill spoke, among others.

The gathering is organized by the Balkan Fund for Democracy of the German Marshall Fund of the US as part of the project "Strengthening EU integration in Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia" with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Belgrade.
