Starovic: Nothing was signed in Brussels, but nothing was rejected either

Nemanja Starović

State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense Nemanja Starovic stated today that yesterday's meetings in Brussels were very difficult and demanding, and that when the line was drawn, nothing was signed, but nothing was rejected either, RTV reports.

According to Starovic, the Serbian state delegation, led by President Aleksandar Vucic, succeeded in imposing the final implementation of the Brussels Agreement from 2013 as the first and most important topic, primarily in the part of forming the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities.

"Albin Kurti was obviously not ready to seriously consider this most important topic. The only thing that was essentially agreed upon was that the talks would continue in the coming weeks through shuttle diplomacy and that the next meeting in Brussels would be held on March 18," Starovic said for Tanjug.

According to him, implementation must be an integral part of any new agreement, with the formation of the CSM being the first step.

Starovic says that unlike the Brussels Agreement from 2013, whose main shortcoming was that there were no clearly defined and enforceable methods of implementation, a different path is being taken now.
