Brnabic: Vucic fought for the EU and the US to say today that the agreement is not about recognition, but about normalization
The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, pointed out that the opposition had attacked President Aleksandar Vucic before the meeting in Brussels, but that the attacks had continued even after that meeting at which Vucic had not signed anything, assessing that these attacks had been in the service of destabilizing Serbia, Novosti reports.
"The fight of the quasi-opposition is not a fight for Kosovo and Metohija, but for power at any cost," Brnabic said.
She was a guest on Happy TV and said that "the tycoon media spreads lies to confuse the people".
"Before the President's meeting in Brussels, last week they announced D-day and that he would sign a document in Brussels, issue, recognize, capitulate, and this is not in the political heat of the fight, but it was spread in order to destabilize Serbia," Brnabic said.
She added that there were two sides to the attacks, namely the attacks before Brussels when the opposition had tried to weaken Vucic and Serbia and the attacks after Brussels when it had turned out that everything they had said had been a lie.
"In order to fight for a little power or a few more votes, by the fact that they supposedly protect the national interests of Serbia. For the sake of that, they weakened Serbia's position. The other side is after Brussels when it turned out that everything they said was a lie. When it was showed that the president did not sign anything there, and when he said that there would be no recognition of Kosovo's independence, nor would their membership in the UN be allowed," the prime minister recalled.
According to her, after Brussels, the lies continued, and "the water is muddied".
"They want to confuse people. Now it doesn't matter whether it was signed or not, and it wasn't, and Aleksandar Vucic refused to sign. They continue to interpret some completely clear things. When you look at what Albanian politicians say in Pristina, then it is completely clear to you what Aleksandar Vucic has achieved," Brnabic points out.
As she adds, there is no end to lies and the fight of the "quasi-patriotic" opposition is not a fight for Kosovo, but for power at any cost.
"If they try to weaken Vucic with lies, in order to get more votes, they will do it, regardless of the consequences for the status of Kosovo and Metohija and our fight in Brussels," Brnabic added.
She pointed out that the opposition knew very well that Vucic was not a traitor and that he had fought for things that had seemed impossible 10 years ago.
"And those who say that he is a traitor are the same people, who, when they were in power, did nothing," she said.
She emphasized that Vucic had caused the withdrawal of the recognition of Kosovo and that he had fought for the CSM.
"That is our weapon and tool in our hands, which we are holding on to, since they will not form the CSM. And since it is the first item on the agenda, there is still no implementation. Vucic fought for the European Commission, the EU, and the US to say today that the agreement it's not about recognition, but about normalization. When did that happen before Aleksandar Vucic came," Brnabic asked.
She adds that it is not in the opposition's favor that the current government is fighting for Kosovo because they had 10 years to fight, and they came to the point that Kosovo declared independence and that they recognized the borders, seals, and customs.
"That's what they did, who today claim to be patriots. They had time to fight for the Republic of Kosovo, and they were in a better position than Vucic since Pristina did not declare independence at the time. Vucic took it literally when the subject was completed for all international actors," she emphasizes.
Brnabic said that Serbia was her country, that there was no reserve country, and that she would fight for Serbia.
She states that Haki Abazi, an influential politician, not only among Albanians but at the world level, as he led the Rockefeller Foundation and financed NGOs, including Savo Manojlovic, said that the CSM was a noose around the neck of independent Kosovo.
She adds that President Vucic personally "inserted" the CSM into the negotiations at the last moment.
"That was inserted then, without anyone else fully understanding how important the CSM would be. At that time, both the representatives of Pristina and the EU representatives agreed to it. Today, neither the European mediators nor Brussels, not even Washington can escape from the CSM. And they don't want to, since their credibility is at stake. And Pristina can't escape either. And that's where you can see Aleksandar Vucic's political skill," Ana Brnabic said.
Brnabic reminds that 1,891 Albanian terrorists were released from prison during the previous government.
"All those who were convicted, for whom there is evidence. Some of them are such villains that today they are being prosecuted in the Special Court in The Hague. They were prosecuted in our country for the murder of the Serbs, rape, and organ trafficking... They were all released indiscriminately, and it is incredible that the Amnesty Law demanded that everyone be released from prison by March 17, 2002. What is fate? On that same day, two years later, the pogrom of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija began," she said.
She says that many who were in Serbian prisons participated in the pogrom against the Serbs.
"I saw over the weekend that the former president of Serbia, Tadic, asked how we were not ashamed to change the truth and said that he had reacted, as the federal minister of defense at the time. What do you mean? It lasted for five days. It started on the 15th, then the 16th, 17th, 18th, 19. When did you react if you did? I am preparing a special document about it that will show our people what it looked like," she pointed out.
Brnabic says that it is like rubbing salt in the wound when those, who did nothing, talk about the pogrom today.
"And today, instead of saying sorry, we had nothing to react to, we didn't have an army, nor were we economically strong, you attack. That's a shame," she said.
The Prime Minister says that the former government accepted everything - both what was requested and what was not requested.
"The French citizen Milos Jovanovic says that no one asked for it, not even the West. He says that they did it to get closer to the West. Why? Because of Serbia? At that time, the agreements that were made were the kind of agreements that Pristina could not wait to implement. Today, Pristina does not want the CSM, and that speaks volumes about what the Brussels agreement is like, how it was negotiated, how much it is in the interest of the Serbs and Serbia, and how much of Pristina," Brnabic says.
Brnabic states that no matter how much someone tries to confuse and misinform, the truth remains simple.
"That anti-state coalition and Mrs. Stamenkovski spread lies about me having a Croatian passport. On the other hand, she travels around Serbia and hugs a man who has a French passport. It doesn't bother her at all and it speaks of their hypocrisy. And about what kind of political standards does Aleksandar Vucic have as a heritage? The following is the best. Some would say today that we use that French citizen as an insult against them. And we never said that, until they started lying that I had Croatian citizenship," she said.
Brnabic points out that times are difficult today, that Serbia is the only country that has not imposed sanctions on Russia, and that it is pursuing an independent policy.
"I think that is the greatest success and the greatest achievement of Aleksandar Vucic - that independent policy. Such attacks and brokering by foreign citizens, in fact, are not because of Kosovo and Metohija, but only and exclusively because they want to return Serbia to the time when we could not decide independently. They want to weaken Vucic and the Serbian Progressive Party at all costs so that Serbia can return to those times. It is our duty to fight and preserve an independent, strong, and stable Serbia," the Prime Minister pointed out.
