President of the "Voice of Parents" Association, Bajram Cerkini, states that Kosovo has no right to sue Serbia for genocide because it is not a member of the United Nations, Front Online reports.

According to him, politicians are holding the families of the missing as hostages and taking no action.

"They don't have the right because we are not a UN member. They are holding us hostage; they are not doing anything about the missing. It's just a political matter, throwing dust in the eyes of the citizens," Cerkini says.

Regarding war reparations, Cerkini says that it will not happen even after 100 years, citing the example of Germany.

"Do you know how many years it took Germany to collect war reparations, and Serbia is stronger today than it was. Will Kosovo be able to achieve what they mentioned after 100 years? That doesn't bring back family members," he says.

Cerkini states that US Ambassador Jeffrey Hovenier told him in a meeting a few days ago that Kosovo's institutions had not been effective in their demands to find the missing.

"We are hostages of this dangerous policy, first domestic and now international. A few days ago, I had a meeting with the US Ambassador Hovenier, where I openly asked - Why are you not helping us when we have names, surnames, and codes where our people have been located? Do you know what he told me? He said that two days ago, he had a meeting with the International Red Cross and that we should address them. He told me that Kosovo had not sent a request yet, and our people say Belgrade is to blame," Cerkini says.
