Chollet: I asked Kurti to postpone the decision on the license plates

US State Department Counselor Derek Chollet said he asked Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti to postpone the decision on new license plates implementation.

After the phone call with Kurti, he wrote on his Twitter that the main topic of the conversation was to avoid further escalation.

"Postpone license plate penalties, keep the door open to Kosovan Serbs' return to institutions, and focus on normalization Dialogue with Serbia = best path to advance Kosovo's European & Euro-Atlantic integration," Chollet wrote.
