Citizens of Northern Kosovo: Abolishing payment transactions would cause chaos, as the majority of transactions are in Serbian dinars

Citizens of Leposavic and Northern Mitrovica believe that abolishing payment transactions with Serbia would cause chaotic conditions, as the majority of salary, pension, and social welfare payments are made to them in Serbian dinars. Pristina is announcing this measure to be implemented from February 1, and the citizens agree that it will cause significant problems.

A pensioner from Leposavic says that all his income and payments, including social welfare, are received in Serbian dinars. He is puzzled about how payments will now be made in euros.

"I think this is not good because we receive pensions and social welfare, and everything comes from Serbia in Serbian dinars. The question is, as they say, that payments will be made in euros - how, in what way? I think it's not right, it's not good for us", he said.

Another interviewee from Leposavic adds that a chaotic situation is looming for the Serbs, and she doesn't know what the future holds.

"It's chaos, unbelievable. I don't know what to do", she said.

A pensioner from North Mitrovica believes that the Serbian dinar will not be abolished.

"They are crazy, no one can convince me they're not crazy", she said.

When asked by a journalist to comment on the abolition of the Serbian dinar, she added, "It won't happen, never!"

A resident from Socanica guarantees that the Serbian dinar will not be abolished.

"What can I think? I am a pensioner and I don't think it will happen. Guaranteed, I guarantee it myself", he said.
