A series of activities are being held in Kosovo today to mark the 17th anniversary of the declaration of independence, and citizens of Pristina, interviewed by Kosovo Online reporters, emphasize that while their expectations have not been fully met, they are satisfied with what has been achieved.

Izet Zulja points out that the people’s expectations have been partially fulfilled and that the current situation is satisfactory.

"Expectations are never fully met, but it is good if they are at least partially fulfilled. I think the situation is satisfactory, not more, not less. It is good that a war has ended and that it will never happen again, that people can live, especially you young people, so that you can live better than we once did. That is my only wish," Zulja said.

One Pristina resident notes that expectations are never fully met, but the most important goals have been achieved.

"We are satisfied. I often meet Montenegrins, Dutch, Danes, and they tell me, ‘We have traveled a lot, and you have made exceptional progress.’ And it is true. Progress should be viewed relatively, not compared to some much older countries," he said.

Another Pristina resident emphasizes that people are somewhat satisfied.

"Life is good, there are no problems, but it is just normal. Some of the people’s wishes still need to be fulfilled. The people are partially satisfied, but more needs to be done," he said.

"Not all expectations have been met, but some have. The people are satisfied, at least that is what I think," another citizen added.

Sabri Reda believes that expectations were fulfilled on the day "Kosovo was liberated."

"Of course, people are never fully satisfied with what has been achieved, and that is normal. But I think things are still good," Reda said.
