The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, said today after the session of the Bureau for Coordination of the Work of Security Services that the security situation in the country was stable and that the Bureau gave unreserved support to the efforts of President Aleksandar Vucic in the negotiation process with Pristina, under the auspices of the EU.

"Our task is to consider the situation and how to enable the internal security and stability of the country to preserve peace. In this sense, our conclusion is that the current security situation in Serbia is stable, but that the security sector will continue to work in accordance with its competencies on preserving peace and stability in the country and the safety of Serbia's citizens," Dacic said.

He added that the Bureau gave unreserved support to President Vucic when it came to big pressures coming from abroad, or, as he said, "executors of works in our country."

"We give a lot of support when it comes to the negotiation process with the temporary institutions in Pristina. Vucic has our support and will certainly protect the national and state interests in the best way possible, but also what is important, Serbia's European path," Dacic said for Tanjug.

Dacic pointed out that the current situation in Serbia had been discussed at the session, with special reference to the situation in Kosovo and all the dangers that threatened Serbs, primarily from Albin Kurti.

"Kurti's main guiding idea may be verbal dialogue, but his main goal is to expel the Serbs from Kosovo," Dacic said.

He added that the session had analyzed the situation related to illegal migration, and after the visit of the European Commissioner for Internal Affairs, all other threats and situations regarding the maintenance of public order and peace in Serbia.

"The situation in the country is stable, and the security sector will work to protect national and state interests, to preserve internal security, peace, and stability, especially in this time of pressure, which will increase further, having in mind the most complicated geopolitical relations, which are headed for further escalation and not appeasement," Dacic said.
