The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, assessed today that it was counterproductive to reward Pristina with a decision to start visa liberalization. He says, it is the government in Pristina that is an obstacle to the continuation of the dialogue and a danger to regional peace and stability because it makes unilateral moves, Novosti reported.

Dacic states that it is not good for the European Union either, because it shows that it has no authority and that it has double standards.

"I don't know what kind of message that would be for Serbia, which has been fair all these years, which has been a predictable partner, and which constantly faces threats, pressures, and conditions, unlike the representatives of Pristina, who are practically rewarded for their incorrectness and non-fulfillment of international obligations," Dacic said in a statement to Tanjug.

He added that it was not a good message to send.

"The Republic of Serbia has never been against the right of the citizens from our region to travel without visas to the EU member states. This is a matter of something else. A few days ago we witnessed that the temporary institutions from Pristina have represented the main problem in the implementation of the Brussels Agreement, that those institutions have been a threat to regional peace and stability," Dacic said.

He added that it could also be heard from the highest representatives of the EU and the US and other major countries that Pristina's moves were unacceptable and emphasized that it was counterproductive for Pristina to be rewarded for that.
