Denmark: Commitment to supporting Kosovo on its path to European integration during EU council presidency

Denmark, which assumed the Presidency of the Council of the European Union on July 1st, has announced its commitment to supporting Kosovo on its path toward European integration, reports Klan Kosova.

The Office of the Permanent Representative of Denmark to the EU emphasized that the Danish presidency will work on identifying concrete ways to bring Kosovo closer to the European Union.

"The Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union will work closely with the Commission and Member States to advance the merit-based enlargement process and will support the necessary reforms and political steps in countries aspiring to membership," the statement said.

With regard to Kosovo, the focus of the presidency will be on identifying steps that can contribute to deeper institutional and political integration with the EU.
